Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease that randomly attacks the central nervous system (the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves) stopping the brain communicating with the rest of the body. The consequences can include extreme fatigue and chronic pain, vision, cognitive, continence and mobility issues, right through to total and permanent disability.
Multiple sclerosis is a lifelong disease for which there is no known cause or cure.
